About the role
We are looking for a driven SRE that enjoys working with the latest technologies and that is passionate about real-time scalable systems and does not back away from challenges. You will be here to develop and create innovative solutions and solve real-time client challenges, collaborating in a distributed international team.
Responsibilities
- Develop Jenkins jobs, new services, and automate surrounding processes
- Automate actions that should be performed more than a couple of times (Everything as code approach). Automate build, test and deployment processes and pipelines
- The architecture improvement of the maintained services to optimize costs and make it more fault-tolerant
- Respond to incidents and participate in root cause analysis
- Do research about the best observability approaches in the industry and how to implement them.
- Create documentation for implemented solutions
- Share the knowledge and best practices with colleagues, participate in tech talks (optional)
- Monitor the quality of service, reliability, availability and security of our products
- Perform post-mortem analyses after incidents and monitor reported incidents to identify critical trends
- In charge of deployment, maintenance and any on-call responsibilities associated with the system in production
- Maintain services to meet service-level-agreements (SLAs) or service-level-objective (SLOs) by measuring and monitoring availability, performance, and overall system health
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
- Improve reliability by designing and building sustainable and fault-tolerant systems
- Measure the performance of the infrastructure and anticipate issues before it’d impact customers
Key Skills
- 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator/SRE engineer
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills, patching experience
- Strong experience in automation development and configuration management
- Coding/scripting experience, Shell and Python
- Experience in debugging and automating routine tasks
- Good understanding of general infrastructure areas – compute, storage, network
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools in production
- Experience with modern software development life-cycle
- Experience with version control systems
- Pro-active approach to learning about and adapting to new technologies
- Fluent English
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You have the ability to deal with uncertainty and handle pressure whilst solving problems and conflicts
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of configuration management using Gitlab and Terraform
- Git source control using Gitlab
- Experience with AWS
- Experience of best practices to support always-on mission critical systems
- Appreciation of the business processes and their importance
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Experience working in Redis, Kafka, Jenkins, Gitlab, MySQL, Containers are a big plus
- Experience in Kubernetes/Docker/Helm will be a plus
